How to Join as a new member or Rejoin a Surf Club (after an absence)

Welcome to Surf Life Saving ‐ it’s great that you’d like to get involved in the movement and to make a difference to beach‐goers lives. Getting involved means joining a surf lifesaving club, and to enable you to do this, we have created electronic systems to ease you through the process.

Membership Request

2017/2018 Membership Fees

Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • ALL members MUST have a WWCC Card if they are over the age of 18
  • WWCC Cards must have Barwon Heads 13th Beach SLSC and Life Saving Victoria as registered organisations.
  • Visit the Department of Justice’s Working with Children websiteto change existing card details or apply for a new card. Contact their Customer Support Line on 1300 652 879 for any issues registering for a WWCC.
Returning Members - Membership Renewal (individual)
  • You will require the login and password for the SLSA Member Portal account you created last year.
  • EACH Club member, including Life Members, must submit a Membership Renewal as it contains your membership & liability declarations via the SLSA Portal.
  • Go to Members Portal> Memberships and click the ‘Renew’ button associated with Barwon Heads 13th Beach SLSC.
  • After you renew your membership, you will be directed to Online Payments.
Returning Members - Membership Renewal (family)
  • You will require the login and password for the SLSA Member Portal account you created last year.
  • The primary parents that registered last year can renew their own and their linked spouse/partner’s and children’s memberships.
  • EACH Club member (including Life Members and ALL participating family members) must submit a Membership Renewal as it contains your membership & liability declarations.
  • Go to Members Portal > My Family and click the Renew Memberships link
    • Select (tick) each member to be renewed.
    • Tick the declaration and submit.
  • After you renew your membership, you will be directed to Online Payments.
  • If you wish to join up a child who is new to the club then click here to submit a Membership Application.
New Members - Membership Application
  • EACH Club member (including ALL participating family members) must complete a Membership Application, as it contains your membership & liability declarations.
    • Any child below the age of 16 will be required to have at least one parent/guardian join.
  • Click here to submit a Membership Application.
  • Remember to create a Members Portal account after your Membership Application has been approved by the Club.
