Working With Children Check
It is a Life Saving Victoria requirement that all members aged 18 and over must have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
If you do not currently have a WWCC please complete an online application at www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au, you will need to take this to an Australia Post Outlet to be processed. Please note that failure to hold a valid WWCC (including the registered organisations) will delay processing of Nipper, Cadet and Membership applications.
The check is free for volunteers, and you must include the details below-
Section D – Details of Child-Related Work
- 10 (Overnight Camps)

Whilst we acknowledge that WWCC are generally not required for professions that also undertake similar checks such as Teachers and Police officers, there is no link between your profession as a teacher, Department of Justice and any volunteer organisation in which you participate. If there are breaches of any laws (relevant to this check) in the capacity of a teacher or Police Officer, we have no way of being informed of such charges. As mandated by Life Saving Victoria’s Child Safe Policies, no exemptions will be applied.
