About our Club

Since its formation in 1961 the club has patrolled 13th Beach every season. We are a dedicated volunteer organisation, committed to supporting the missions of Life Saving Victoria and Surf Life Saving Australia, to prevent aquatic related injury and death.

From humble beginnings operating out of a tin shed, the club has progressed to modern facilities we are proud to use today. During this time Barwon Heads 13th Beach SLSC has been at the forefront of patrolling excellence, having won the State Patrol Efficiency Award on four occasions and the District Patrol Efficiency Award on a regular basis.

Our Nipper programs are a filled with fun and enthusiasm where we welcome all families and children regardless of prior beach exposure and skill levels. Through our programs children develop self confidence, surf skills and knowledge to keep themselves safe while at the beach while also developing life long friendships.

As well as our fine patrol record, our members have also had success in the competition area, particularly in the IRB where we have not only won State Titles, but provided members to assist with the important task of running carnivals on a state and national level.
